Ohio Afterschool Network
The Ohio Afterschool Network supports children, youth, families, and communities by advocating and building capacity with a unified voice for sustainable investments in safe, healthy, and engaging afterschool experiences that promote life–long learning. OAN work includes development of tools such as program quality guidelines and afterschool program physical activity guidelines. Additionally, a Policy & Funding Committee works to improve state and federal systems such as regulation, quality investments and funding.
Membership is free, while there is a nominal charge to attend quarterly membership meetings. Benefits of membership Include bi–monthly electronic newsletters with information on new and current research, professional development opportunities, funding, resources and policy updates, networking at quarterly membership meetings, and the opportunity to work to strengthen afterschool and school–age child care in Ohio and across the country.
