Step Up to Quality (Parents)

Step Up to Quality is a star–rating system managed by the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services (ODJFS) and supported by OCCRRA and the CCR&Rs to help parents find early care and education programs that go beyond Ohio's minimum licensing standards. Each star signals a higher level of staff qualifications and planned early learning activities.

The ratings are based on national research identifying the key benchmarks that lead to improved outcomes for children. These benchmarks include low child to staff ratios, group size, accreditation, staff education, specialized training, improved workplace characteristics and early learning standards.
